The 5th annual star-studded Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic took place last weekend on the gorgeous grounds of Will Rogers State Historic Park in Los Angeles. The event was co-hosted by Argentine polo star and Ralph Lauren model Nacho Figueras, and Vanessa Kay, President of Veuve Clicquot USA, where I was able to indulge in the exciting polo match – actually, ogle  Black Watch’s team captain Figueras – and an afternoon filled with champagne, picnics and music. Christina Hendricks, Anna Faris, Rosario Dawson, Rachel Zoe, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Tony Goldwyn were all spotted in the VIP area where the exclusive ticketed picnic party offered a chic polo-day experience.

Since its creation in 1772 – where Barbe-Nicole, the widow of Francois Clicquot, was the first woman to take over a champagne house –  Veuve Clicquot has shaped the champagne industry as we know it today. The brand began its long association with polo in England with the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup, and now in the US with the Polo Classic. This stylish event began in New York in 2008, and in 2010 Veuve Clicquot brought the classic to Los Angeles. Beautiful orange blooms were seen everywhere – as well as those beautiful orange labeled bottles – and the luxury picnic baskets were filled with seasonal picnic fare created by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck, which paired perfectly with the bubbly. I may not have been following the game too closely, however I did manage to keep my eye on Nacho who scored a win with his team. And I scored a photo with himWho needs football or baseball when you have a beautiful day in the park with some spicy Nachos…
