There’s a new 1,550 square-foot capsule of cool in Downtown Los Angeles that requires an appointment to peruse a mix of out of the box art, design, fashion and jewelry for both men and women. A cross between a gallery and a boutique, Please Do Not Enter offers a collection of contemporary goods that have been expertly curated by its French founders Nicolas Libert- a contemporary architecture real estate vet- and interior designer Emmanuel Renoird, for an audience of progressive minds. Both are art collectors with a special affection for design and architecture, and the space is like an extension of their lives. Libert and Renoird moved to Los Angeles two years ago wanting to create a new project and decided to gather all the things they love in one place…not surprisingly in one of the world’s most emerging epicenters of cool, DTLA.

Located in an airy space on the 12th floor of the 1921 Beaux-Arts gem Pacific Mutual Building, the space’s wares are beautifully displayed in a setting designed by Renoird with fixtures that echo the building’s architecture. Open seven days a week, sculpture and objects by Arik Levy and Guillaume Bardet, furniture by Elise Gabriel and Valentin Loellmann, leather goods by Gertrud and George, headphones by Aedle, perfume by Maison Francis Kurkdjian, photographs by Gregoire Cheneau, stationary from Japan’s Ito Bindery, and quirky kids toys from the Danish brand Lucky Boy Sunday all have a place at Please Do Not Enter. While Renoird and Libert have selected the goods with a sophisticated male consumer in mind, women will find plenty to fill their shopping bags. www.pleasedonotenter.com
