To those who fantasize about the world of interiors, Madeline Weinrib is a superhero of sorts. Well…at least to me she is. An established painter- exhibiting regularly in New York throughout the 1990’s- Madeline switched gears and designed her first carpet collection in 1997 for ABC Carpet & Home- finally joining the family business, as her great-grandfather, Max Weinrib, was the original founder of this lower Manhattan divine mecca for home decor.
The Madeline Weinrib brand is now synonymous with lush colors and exotic designs, drawing from her global travels and influences- particularly the Far East and North Africa. Collaborating heirloom quality textiles with accessories and home decor objects, clients can cultivate bespoke spaces that read I’m chic and I know it, while maintaining a unique bohemian sensibility.
For years, the Madeline Weinrib Atelier has been tucked inside ABC Carpet on the sixth floor, and now there’s an additional showroom steps away on Fifth Avenue. By appointment only, you can peruse antique fabrics, vintage Moroccan rugs, furniture, and pillows, along with her signature cotton, tibetan, and chenille metallic rugs. As a proud owner of one of her classic dhurrie’s- and a bit of a groupie for all things Madeline Weinrib- I could easily live inside her showroom, or ABC Carpet for that matter…but for now, my rug will just have to do. www.madelineweinrib.com
