Source it

As I sit here writing my first blog for The Carrie Source, I have to say I’m a bit amazed it’s taken this long to get here. Launching my new lifestyle guide has been in the making for years, just ask my friends, my mother, or even my hairdresser, yet I would always seem to get immersed in something else. Having been involved in hospitality and lifestyle management, I took great pleasure in facilitating peoples needs, but loved hunting down a new treasure, or as I call it, sourcing. The intention to write about my discoveries both near and far always left me a bit…obsessed.

Marche Aux Puces | Paris

I’ve consistently been called upon as a resource to friends and family, and then clients…a little black book of sorts, embedded in me. This photo of the Marche Aux Puces in Paris is where my initial concept for The Carrie Source took form, years ago while on a family vacation, as my parents and brothers canvassed this massive flea-market with me to ensure I would collect copious amounts of little treasures to take home and eventually sell. Although every piece ended up on permanent display inside my apartment – to be honest, I couldn’t bear to part with them – the real payoff came in an unexpected way…people wanted complete access to my Paris experience, not only my flea-market binge but more, and so I gradually became the go-to girl for pretty much everything lifestyle.

I have to say, I’ve been on some amazing journeys, and so inspired along the way. Whether exploring the world or living in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York, I couldn’t wait to report every new find to my inner circle through my unique lens. Creating my own personal journal in which I could be the ultimate editor has always stayed with me, so much so that a very loud mantra -when will you finally do this already- became impossible to ignore any longer. My love for adventure, storytelling, and scouring the unknown for the latest and greatest -infused with a serious style obsession- led me to The Carrie Source. So here I go, bringing forth all that is beautiful, relevant, interesting, exclusive, and just overall…beyond.
