It’s hard to imagine LA’s fashion high-priestess and luxury retailer Jeannie Lee was once a commercial real estate lawyer before opening Satinethe quirky cool designer destination to some of the most stylish women in the world. Her West Hollywood boutique carries the best selection of major international brands to satisfy all fashionistas who are looking for their next Balenciaga, Erdem, Rag and Bone, or Viktor and Rolf fix. Lee describes her shop as girly with a twist, and also features fledgling indie labels as well as young and exciting European and Japanese talents- such as Mirco Giovannini and Tsumori Chisato- along with ready to wear directly from the runway.

This ultimate closet and portal to youthful edge and sophistication is due in large part to the street styles of Tokyo, Paris, New York and Los Angeles, which strongly influences Lee’s sharp editing savvy. Stocking the hardest to find items is key to her success and her sense of irony is evident by her in-store merchandising, where you will find kitsch- Japanese Kewpie Dolls- planted right next to fab- this season’s must-have Lanvin heels. Far from the early days where Satine carried shoes and accessories only, Lee’s 4,000 sq. ft. hot spot is now joined by her two recent additions, Satine Convenience Store on Abbott Kinney in Venice, and a new four month pop-up in Manhattan Beach. Now that’s smooth.  www.satineboutique.com
