De La Soul

What happens when you find Dior-clad Supermodels, bronzed investment bankers, and Saudi Princesses -spraying magnums of Cristal on them, just because– having too much fun at exclusive hot spots in Marbella? You just may discover the most beyond crowd of international jet-setters hitting up the dance floor. Nestled in the lush subtropical gardens of the Mediterranean, along the Costa del Sol, Spain’s most hedonistic strip of sand has been a legendary playground for the privileged and beautiful since the 1960’s, when Jackie Onassis, Brigitte Bardot and Audrey Hepburn would frequent posh getaways there. One such oasis is the beachside luxury resort Puente Romano, a member of the Leading Hotels of the World group- and sister property of the uber chic Marbella Beach Club. Puente Romano lies two miles west of Old Town Marbella, and its lush botanical exuberance embraces the ancient Roman Bridge its named after- which traces back to the 1st Century and is the longest surviving bridge from ancient times.

A world renowned resort- and one of the top hotels in Spain- Puente Romano is located on Marbella’s Golden Mile and is designed in typical Andalusian style, with white washed buildings scattered amongst gardens, waterfalls, lakes and fountains- as the greenery winds its way down straight onto the beach and the hotel’s beach club. Spacious rooms with marble floors and private terraces are featured in the hotel’s 274 guestrooms that are set throughout the gardens in small three-story buildings, and its legendary Tennis Club once had Bjorn Borg as its Director, even hosting his wedding. I personally think hedonism and stunning European locales pair together perfectly and wouldn’t be bothered at all if some princesses-preferably a prince- let loose some of their bubbly on me… www.puenteromano.com
