In fashion these days, there’s a trend towards newness in a store environment that is key to drawing in existing and new customers. The recently opened Bottega Veneta on Melrose Place is one of those concept stores that looks entirely different from their other LA or global outposts, which is exactly how Tomas Maier- Bottega Veneta’s creative director- envisioned it. The Italian luxury brand, most known for their woven leather handbags and timeless yet innovative design with highest-quality materials, has a new address on one of LA’s most upscale yet understated streets, where the 2,700 square foot store houses a carefully edited selection inspired by its locale. In a sense, the boutique is sourced from the brand itself and caters to the refined clientele at this prominent and intimate destination.
A more curated assortment of choice handbags, elegant cocktail dresses, jewelry, shoes, gifts, and fragrances are integrated with home furnishings such as leather daybeds, masculine writing desks, table lamps and Murano glassware. LA’s second Bottega Veneta store was conceived to have a minimalist, gallery-esque aesthetic and the design was based around the light and clean lines of the space. The crisp white interiors, frosted glass, transparent resin, painted steel and lacquered wood provide a completely fresh take on this elegant line, and Maier insists that in a large city like LA where there are multiple brand locations, each store shouldn’t require to look the same. Cosmopolitan luxury can come in many different environments…as long as its chic and modern like Maier and his Bottega beyondness. www.bottegaveneta.com
