Decor Galore

When I first discovered the glamorous furniture warehouse that is HD Buttercup back in 2006- when it opened in Los Angeles- I couldn’t help but feel an eery presence of ABC Carpet & Home- my favorite home decor shrine in NYC. It didn’t take a psychic to figure out that the owner and founder happens to be Evan Cole, the former CEO and co-founder of the home division of ABC Carpet & Home. He and his ex-wife reinvented the space in 1985 as a stylized flea market where business soared. Inside HD Buttercup, you will find thousands of handpicked furniture pieces as well as art, lighting, and accessories on display. The brick and mortar emporium is housed in the historic Helms Bakery building which opened in Culver City in 1931, where additions to the building continued into the 1950’s.

Constantly providing an evolving selection of goods from dynamic designers, HD Buttercup was designed to give customers a new way to shop for home furnishings by creating a memorable shopping experience. As the largest furnishings retailer in LA with over 150,000 square feet, a mix of vintage, modern and antique collections are delivered weekly. The urban and industrial space is tastefully filled to the brim with a wide selection of styles, delivering one-stop shopping for luxury furnishings. They recently launched an exclusive partnership with Designers House, offering six boutiques selling high-end, never-before-seen designer decor from Celerie Kemble, Jeffrey Allan Marks, Aerin Lauder and others. With another outpost in San Francisco that’s located in an old meat packing plant in the South of Market district, HD Buttercup is the perfect go-to when you need to fill up your new place now. All it takes is a one day excursion, but I could probably manage that in an hourwww.hdbuttercup.com
