Inside a Creamsicle colored boutique in West Hollywood, groups of women can be found asking for Pure & Simple, Simply Glowing, Lucky Stars, Life of the Party, Smoke & Mirrors and Cutting Edge. This is not some crazy new LA cult, it’s Blushington, a two year old sensation where professional make-up artists can get you camera ready… affordably. Founder and Chief Executive Stephi Maron proved to be pretty savvy by launching Blushington at the tender age of 23, having had absolutely no makeup training or even a beauty background. Yet this Los Angeles native and business major had the insight to offer women quick, convenient, and gorgeous magazine worthy make-up applications in the same way Blushington’s next door neighbor Drybar provides us all with on-the-go blowouts.
And it was no coincidence that Maron decided to take over that empty space next door, or even hire Drybar’s architect, marketing, and branding people as she realized having these two services next to one another was a no-brainer- offering one-stop shopping for women who wanted their make-up done before or after a blowout. The menu is made up of six looks along with facial waxing, lash and brow tinting, and lash extension. Using only top-notch lines whose products are for sale on-site, clients are also welcome to bring in their own arsenal during their session. A VIP room is on-hand for bridal parties and special occasions, while lead make-up artist Jessica Scantlin offers tutorials, doling out her tried and true tricks. In addition to a recent opening in Dallas, Blushington has exclusively partnered with Ciel Spa- the Philippe Stark designed 5,000 sq ft space inside SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills- where they now rule the make-up lounge. As an obsessive make-up and beauty freak I must tell you… why didn’t I think of this?!? www.blushington.com
