Creating a marketplace where LA’s socially connected women could sample good wine, taste delicious food, and peruse the city’s fashionable designers happens to be a clever take on girl’s night out. Last week Wine Women & Shoes held their annual charitable event at the home of Heather Thomas and Skip Brittenham, where their spacious front lawn was teaming with four hundred chic westside women who shopped for a very good cause. Featuring an array of high-end shoe, handbag, hat, and jewelry vendors that included Kendall Conrad, Jenni Kayne, Rachel Miriam, Jill Roberts, Nina at Fred Segal, and Sally Perrin, along with wines provided by Barrymore Wines, Caymus Vineyards, Frank Family Vineyards, and participating restaurants such as Farmshop, Joss, Villetta, Toscana, Caffe Luxxe, The Palm, and Craig’s, this group of power women were able to catch up with friends while scooping up the goods…talk about multi-tasking.

Now in its ninth year, Wine Women & Shoes has produced over 120 events nationwide, raising upwards of $15 Million for numerous worthy charities. The May 22nd event benefited the Children’s Action Network in addition to the Westside Children’s Center– which both support child development and awareness, regardless of their socio-economic standing or family circumstance. Stacey Kohl, Carla Du Manoir, and Patty Penske chaired this uber-successful event, pulling from their long list of heavy-hitting friends and contacts which enabled a huge turn out- where the majority of all proceeds went to these organizations. A night out with the girls, enjoying a drink or two, and surrounded by shoes everywhere I turned ended up to be great fun. And I didn’t even have to drive. www.winewomenandshoes.com
