Who knew that in the epicenter of a quiet little hamlet near the beach, you would find a fashionista’s treasure trove called Elyse Walker. Well, everyone on the westside of Los Angeles seems to be clued in…having been privy to this gem since its opening back in 1995, as affluent Pacific Palisades moms, as well as local celebrities- such as Kate Beckinsale, Kate Hudson, and Jennifer Garner- flock to Walker’s 6,500 sq. ft. high-end fashion emporium loading up on designer clothing, shoes and accessories.
Now spanning four storefronts, this specialty boutique has grown exponentially since Walker’s move to LA from her native NY. The former stylist was recently featured in The Coveteur, where her own closet is just as revered as the chic brands that hang inside her shop- which include Stella McCartney, Lanvin, Chloe, YSL, Etro, Gucci, Rag & Bone, Isabel Marant, Givenchy, and Balenciaga…and I’m just getting started. In addition to her style palace, Walker teamed up with the e-commerce site Revolver Clothing and launched the super luxe e-shop Forward by Elyse Walker– an edgier Net-a-Porter- offering up lots of glam from the world’s top designers to those who are logistically challenged.
A passionate art collector, you may find a couple of Damien Hirst paintings in the vicinity of a wicked pair of Charlotte Olympia shoes, and although Walker may fancy herself as an avid collector of all things beautiful, she also has a philanthropic side. Her annual Pink Party in Santa Monica benefits the Cedars-Sinai Women’s Cancer Program and features runway fashion shows- to the likes of local talent such as Kelly Wearstler, in addition to Valentino, et al – silent auctions, and even an on-site Pink’s Hot Dog Stand. Known as one of the best parties of the year, I’m sure Walker never has to search far for a fab outfit. www.elysewalker.com
