Vintage fashion fans the world over know where to find Scarlett, with its huge stock of vintage Chanel and Hermes apparel and accessories. And although most Paris insiders- as well as celebrities, supermodels and socialites- are familiar with this gem off Avenue Montaigne, few have been to Scarlett’s private vintage couture warehouse that is filled with troves of 50’s Balenciaga and Jean Patou, among others. From vintage to vamp, the 1900’s to the present, Scarlett is a virtual clothing museum that carries all the major labels such as YSL, Dior, Prada, and Bottega Venteta while specializing in all that immaculate and varied Hermes and Chanel.
Once a fixture at the flea market Vanves, Scarlett- now just a stones throw from the Champs-Elysees- carries vintage pieces that may only be a season old and are classical enough to be used without implying a funky retro look. Though the boutique is tiny and cluttered, the impressive stock has made a fan out of Rachel Zoe, who buys her one of a kind Hermes there, and the Olsen twins. If you happen to be scouring Paris for a Chanel sac chine or even a Chanel necklace that is so Game of Thrones worthy, then Scarlett is your go-to grande dame in this chic arrondissement…and feel free to remind her about those hidden goodies usually reserved for the Russian printzyessa’s.
