Culturally influential people and companies from the likes of MOCA, Marc Jacobs, Conde Nast, Opening Ceremony, Focus features, J Brand and others have enlisted Paper Chase Press, the Los Angeles-based family-run printing house, to print art books, lookbooks, posters and other custom projects. Providing clients bespoke, cutting edge printed media since 1976, owner Nicole Katz took over from her father in 2009 when she moved back to her native LA from New York where she had been working as an arts dealer. Her parents started Paper Chase as an office supply store, and when they started printing stationary the company eventually got into printing.

Maintaining all of its operations under one roof, Paper Chase utilizes only eco-friendly, waterless printing technology and has taken their devotion to minimizing the company’s environmental footprint by using certified paper made entirely from mixed sources and responsibly managed forests. The boutique printer got their new fancy digital press around 2005, which has enabled them to do what they do now. It’s easy to trick out your home office with custom books, hangtags, proper business cards, and postcards and they’re working on expanding their retail line with some exciting things on the horizon. Although people are saying print is dying out, Katz couldn’t disagree more and believes print is everything, convinced the future is all bout 3D printing. 2012 proved to be explosive for Paper Chase as more businesses- and outposts- have opened in LA, and still seem to be sprouting up rapidly, especially in the art and fashion worlds as LA is the flavor these days. You can print that. www.paperchasepress.com
