Sorting out the details for a dinner party I was organizing at the Hotel Bel-Air, the first image that came to mind were flowers. To be specific, gorgeous-lush-yet-minimalist-chic would only do. OK, I admit…it wasn’t as if I was going to be the guest of honor, but my love affair with flowers took precedence over all other details. As this event would be taking place in the fall, there would be a plethora of vibrant colors and textures to choose from. With just one quick call to make, this would be an easy task to complete.
Botany is my go-to for flower arrangements, home décor objects and specialty gifts. Located inside LA’s Brentwood Country Mart, the shop has a sophisticated yet provincial charm. The owners- Stephanie Schur and Stacie Rubaum- have created an intimate and stylish setting to showcase their beautiful designs, and their clients range from celebrities to the neighborhood glam-set. They truly get the art of flowers.
So when the evening finally arrived and I saw the table for the first time, I was in awe of the bountiful arrangement and of course, the incredible beauty of it. The dinner turned out to be a lovely event, and as I was leaving, I was surprised to discover a very generous gift from the hosts placed inside my car- the flowers. As I awakened the next morning and saw them in the light of day, I felt the same way I do after a fresh blowout, that is to say slightly intoxicated. A few days later I deconstructed the incredible arrangement and made mini-bouquets, dispersing them throughout my entire home. If only I could do this weekly… www.botanyflowers.com
