Eric Buterbaugh is sort of like the Eloise of the floral set, as his studio is housed inside the swank Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. The globally renowned floral designer- whose haute flower arrangements are coveted among celebrity’s elite, such as Gwen Stefani, Charlize Theron, and Demi Moore, who is a close friend- began his career in fashion having worked side-by-side with Versace and Valentino. For Buterbaugh, sliding from frocks to fleurs was easy game due to his creativity and inherent sensibility for design, making him the ultimate power-flower guy in Hollywood.

Buterbaugh’s trendsetting arrangements define modern opulence and are always considered a work of art, taking floral design to a whole new level. And it’s not just the A-list that clamor for his fragrant eye candy, political world leaders and royalty are also among his list of prominent clientele. He has become so well-known for his red-and-white bunches of roses, peonies, and orchids, that he calls the arrangement his version of a black Chanel suit, and his other signature look features fabric-covered containers created by on-staff tailors which are made out of leather- even snakeskin.

Gifted with a great eye, and an even greater understanding of the way flowers liven up a space in a way that no other decorative item can, Buterbaugh firmly believes that putting fresh greenery in a beautiful glass vase can transform a home instantly. Known for his stunning designs and intricate arrangements throughout the hotel- such as his beyond creation of cymbidiums woven throughout wrought iron branches and fan palms- he has also produced hundreds of bouquet displays for extravagant affairs taking place during Hollywood Awards Season, as well as charity galas and high-profile weddings. In a recent- and witty- web chat with Nicole Ritchie, he flat out dissed the Daisy by calling it the desperate flower, thinks endless Peonies are the perfect Mother’s Day gift, and loves himself a black Calla Lily…I couldn’t happen to agree more. www.ericbuterbaugh.com
