Hello Kitty Con 2014 is the first official Hello Kitty Convention, which will be taking over the Geffen Contemporary @MOCA in LA’s Little Tokyo on October 30 through November 2, 2014. Four days of workshops, panels, speakers, and tons of merchandise- naturally- will help celebrate the super adorbs Sanrio icon’s 40th Anniversary- yes, even Hello Kitty is getting older. The pop-culture convention is a global gathering of fans and friends of all ages where interactive experiences and events include activities, art, food and more.
Speakers will include Hello Kitty head designer, Yuko Yamaguchi, and artist and creator of the tokidoki brand, Simone Legno. Shop a curated collection of Hello Kitty Con exclusives from special partners and collaborators, including Dylan’s Candy Bar, Sephora and Major League Baseball- go Giants!- at Super Supermarket. Or perhaps show your love and get a Hello Kitty tattoo at the pop-up tattoo parlor with real ink – no henna here – as five tattoo artists will be available for appointments throughout the weekend. LA’s ultra hip Koreatown hotel The Line has signed on to be the con’s official hotel, offering Hello Kitty themed rooms and even Hello Kitty themed dishes on the room service menu.
