Recently, I found myself in the midst of a workout within close proximity to the infamous muscle beach in Venice. Although I love the outdoors- specifically my beautiful and inspirational hikes- it’s fair to assume you wouldn’t normally find me mid- squat, digging into the sand with what seems like a fifteen pound log outstretched above my head- all the while trying desperately not to plummet backwards. That said, I had the privilege of working out with Paul Lubicz…also internationally regarded as The Wellbeing Manager- whose business of converging holistic health and fitness with East-West cultures- where the mind and body must be in symmetry- has a formidable client list consisting of A-list celebrities, think Elton John, Oscar and Golden Globe winners, perhaps Kiera Knightly, CEOs, could be Rupert Murdoch, and assorted Royalty… all courting him for his services.
Lubicz, who hails from Perth, Australia grew up surrounded by nature and beauty, and with an inclination for sports, which ultimately led him to establish The Wellbeing Manager. For over fifteen years, he’s been working with high-profile clients not only as a personal trainer, but also a coach of sorts…expertly choosing the right team of restorative practitioners to best integrate life’s important components for health and longevity which includes his 7 principles of balance- proactive well-being, positive mental attitude, passion and purpose, rest, recover and rejuvenate, nourishment, movement, and collective experience.
When Lubicz arrived in London fourteen years ago, he started out with just a sliver of actor clients, yet his bespoke fitness management company eventually grew, and shifted into media as well- where he wrote the book Body Conditioning for Men, and is co-creator of the PlayStation 2 exercise games EYE Toy Kinetic and EYE Toy Combat. His journalistic experience includes Health and Fitness Contributor for TV’s Sky News Europe, and writing for the UK Sunday Times Health, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, Vanity Fair, and GQ. Now based in Los Angeles- and keeping company with the seriously famous- I found Lubicz to be refreshingly grounded, modest, and totally invested in people’s wellbeing- even my own, turning me on to some much needed body healers. LA could definitely use some more people from the land of Oz… www.thewellbeingmanager.com
