Power Beauty

The iconic Park Avenue Loews Regency Hotel– home of the legendary Power Breakfast- reopened in January following an extensive $100 million revitalization. And what a facelift it was. Power breakfast, now meet power beauty…as renowned celebrity hairstylist Julien Farel heads the new state-of-the-art, 10,000 square-foot Julien Farel Restore Salon & Spa. Inspired by modern Parisian decor that pays homage to Farel’s French heritage, the chic space was designed by Meyer Davis and features floor to ceiling windows; exquisite furnishings from the Maletti Group; 32 custom hair stations; a lounge and waiting area and private suites for VIP guests. The salon is the final component to the hotel’s stunning transformation, as Farel’s salons- also operating in Miami and Cabo San Lucas- are synonymous with modern luxury.

Farel has amassed an impressive roster of clients ranging from beauty editors to CEO’s to A-list celebrities, and is dedicated to creating a world of beauty built on luxury and fashion-forward elegance. His salon and spa is all about beauty and efficiency- very New York- where select treatments such as Power Hour includes a blowout and mani/pedi, all within one hour. That’s my kind of lunch hour. The spa features three single massage rooms and one duet massage room; two facial rooms; a nail suite and a post-treatment lounge to relax… with a little help from a team of experts and doctors led and medically supervised by the renowned dermatologist Dr. Doris Day. On the ground floor, Farel will eventually launch JF Men catering to every man’s grooming needs. And then there’s that 17,000 square-foot fitness center. Breakfast, cardio and color sounds like my perfect morning. www.loewshotels.com
