Scheck, Please

Celebrity jewelry designer Lizzie Scheck designs show stopping pieces for the red carpet set, such as her 14-karat gold lightening bolt necklace worn by Mila Kunis. Recognized by Life & Style magazine as Best Star Jeweler, Scheck’s warm, personal and approachable pieces are both feminine and whimsical. Just ask Carrie Bradshaw. When Sarah Jessica Parker discovered Scheck’s diamond horseshoe necklace, she couldn’t bear to take it off so it became a staple on Sex and the City and years later Parker is still a fan. A New York native living in Los Angeles, Scheck had a successful career in film and television production, but has always been crafty and loved making jewelry. In 2001 she co-founded Mia & Lizzy, and subsequently started designing her own line in 2003 which is manufactured in Los Angeles.

She loves to create classic pieces in rose and yellow gold, and was the first in the forefront of layering, a trend that is still wildly popular. Scheck’s personalized jewelry and monograms are great push gifts, yet another trend she was front and center with, and Kate Beckinsale had her design her bridesmaids gifts. Although no longer selling to upscale retail stores, she sells privately online and does the occasional trunk show, as she loves being directly involved with clients-  creating engagement rings in particular. She got involved with red carpet through word of mouth, and still has close relationships with celebrity stylists. Scheck’s gems can be seen in fashion and Hollywood magazines adorning the likes of Kelly Ripa, Heather Morris of Glee – wearing a pave diamond peace sign neckalce- and Jennifer Garner – sporting a gold apple necklace, and her zodiac collection is extremely popular with all these days.
