Floral designer to the stars and fashion’s premier flower power is venturing into the world of fragrances. Eric Buterbaugh plucked a few of his gorgeous longtime friends and clients, Gwyneth Paltrow, Demi Moore, and Nicole Ritchie, for a photo shoot- now in the March issue of Harper’s Bazaar– to help celebrate his new line, Eric Buterbaugh Florals, which launches this month online. Having operated his floral design business for the past 16 years out of a suite in the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, Buterbaugh has become the go-to designer in LA for some of the most discerning heavy weights in entertainment and fashion.
A year and a half ago he met Fabrice Croise, a former Lancome executive, who wanted to develop a new range of perfumes. They quickly agreed to work together and began to sketch out a business plan. The mission was pretty simple: to make the most beautiful floral fragrances that have ever existed. With seven scents- each based on a different flower- Eric Buterbaugh Florals will appeal to women who are both deliberate and particular when it comes to fragrances. He says these scents are sort of like going back to something more old-school and special, like opulent, luxurious flowers…which these days Buterbaugh insists, do not smell the same due to the hothouses they now grow in. It will be interesting to see which one of his celebrity clients will be smelling like a Buterbaugh. www.ericbuterbaugh.com
