The prospect of having The Carrie Source and The Carrie Diaries attend an exclusive poolside party last month- at the same time- may sound like a surreal reality show, however this being Los Angeles the odds really aren’t that slim. And so, the adorable AnnaSophia Robb who portrays that other Carrie, was in the mix along with this Carrie, where a group of stylish and influential women in the entertainment and fashion industries gathered to celebrate the debut of Chrome Girl nail line. These 18 shades of lacquer have been adorned with cheeky names such as Barely Legal, No Tan Lines, When in Chrome and Pillow Talk, and the brand is the creation of actor David Boreanaz- from the hit television show Bones- and his wife Jaime, along with her longtime friend Melissa Ravo and her husband. The 4-free formula leaves behind those pesky chemicals that tend to inhabit most chic brands, having opted out on formaldehyde, camphor, toluene and DBP.
The glamorous launch party was held at the beautiful home of Boreanaz’s agent- Tracy Brennan of CAA- where her backyard was transformed into a chic Miami-style lounge. With an on-site Chrome Girl play-station that showcased their entire line of glossy veneers, this event benefited Dress for Success, a non-profit promoting economic independence and empowerment for disadvantaged women- where they too can strive for a polished look, even by wearing Hard to Get which Jennifer Hudson wore to this year’s Oscars. Boreanaz and Ravo are two busy moms who wanted to make a difference by providing a healthier nail line to women and the environment- where their small daughters could also indulge in an occasional mani/pedi…safely. But I’d recommend forgoing Pucker Up… at least until they hit their teens. www.chromegirl.com
