Say you weren’t too quick on the draw for that Alaia dress you lusted after last season, now you’ve got a second chance at those coveted items you really wanted. Two fashion magazine veterans have joined forces to launch Resee, a site selling a curated selection of vintage and second hand clothes that enables you to revisit the best in past fashion and design. Sofia Bernadin- a former advertising executive for American, Chinese and Japanese Vogue- founded the site along with Sabrina Marshall, an LA expat and former fashion editor of Self Service. They launched the Paris-based website in October 2013 which allows users to shop a high-end selection of second-hand classics without trudging through endless hit-or-miss e-Bay pages.
Edited from a global network of private collections, as well as vintage stores like Neila in Paris- which passed its entire stock on to Resee when it closed its doors late last year- the desirable cachet currently includes Isabel Marant, Celine, Yves Saint Laurent, Chloe, Balmain, Alexander Wang and more. Clean and minimal, with artful still-life shots, Resee reads like an elegant style magazine that fuses pieces from the past with more current looks in a way that’s engaging, inspirational and authentic. The site also offers a private, members-only section where clients can shop the wardrobes of select tastemakers who offer up items from their wardrobe. Bernadin and Marshall would like to add men’s clothing and home decor to the mix but for now they’re happy to help you track down the one that got away. www.resee.com
