Recently I bought a new bed, but before it was even delivered I began to grow delirious- seriously- at the prospect of how to dress my bed. My closest confidantes can attest to what was slumbergate 2014, which became so ridiculous it was almost sick. Those nagging questions managed to run through my head almost as fast as streaming headline news on CNN…what color sheets will work best with my dove grey upholstered bed? Linen vs cotton? Would a blanket be too warm over my duvet? Do I go for it and get insanely priced Pratesi vs. my usual, Calvin Klein? How many pillows? And what shape pillows? My dilemma was squashed once I stumbled upon Society Limonta, an Italian luxury linen collection whose philosophy mirrors mine: it is never satisfied.

The exclusive fabric dates back to 1893 in Costamasnaga, which is in the middle of the renowned textile heartland in Italy. Backed by the know-how and the technology of the Limonta Group, Society formed in 2000 and is driven by desire to try out innovative solutions in home couture. The crumpled washed linen bedding, clothing, tableware and accessories are both luxurious and completely relaxed as Society mistreats a cloth to obtain a new range of tactile and visual sensations, bringing together two fabrics no one ever dreamt of combining, rediscovering an ancient fiber and putting it to unusual use. As one the most prestigious made-in-Italy operators, Society gets its loyal clientele-  luxury minded people with an artists’ eye– to mix together its creations in a completely unique yet chic way. Their flagship store is in Milan, followed by several outposts in Italy, as well as New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Australia, New Zealand, and London. And yes, I love my bed. By the way, I ended up with those Pratesi prices after all. But this ensemble is so much cooler. www.societylimonta.com
